Regina Maria a Rom\u00e2niei l-a transformat \u00eentr-un loc de refugiu elegant \u0219i confortabil \u00een anii 1920.  <\/p><h2 data-start=\"134\" data-end=\"212\"><strong data-start=\"137\" data-end=\"212\">The History of Bran Castle: From Medieval Fortress to Royal Residence<\/strong><\/h2><p data-start=\"214\" data-end=\"588\">The story of <strong data-start=\"247\" data-end=\"264\">Bran Castle<\/strong> begins in 1377, when King Louis I of Hungary granted the people of Bra\u0219ov the right to build a stone fortress to defend the Bran Pass \u2014 a strategic point linking Transylvania and Wallachia.<br>Perched on a steep cliff, the castle\u2019s location offered perfect control over trade routes and defense against Ottoman invasions. In 1920, the citizens of Bra\u0219ov gifted Bran Castle to Queen Marie of Romania as a token of gratitude for her role in the Great Union.<br data-start=\"1473\" data-end=\"1476\">A lover of art and nature, the queen transformed the once austere fortress into a refined summer residence, adorned with elegant interiors, solid wood furniture, and beautiful flower gardens. Bran became a haven of peace and inspiration \u2014 as well as a vibrant cultural center of its time.  <\/p><hr data-start=\"1761\" data-end=\"1764\"><h3 data-start=\"1766\" data-end=\"1794\"><strong data-start=\"1770\" data-end=\"1794\">Bran Castle Today<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"1796\" data-end=\"2273\">After World War II, the castle was nationalized and turned into a museum dedicated to medieval and royal history. Today, Bran Castle is one of the most visited landmarks in Romania, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.<br data-start=\"2073\" data-end=\"2076\">Its exhibitions recreate medieval life, displaying weapons, armor, Gothic furniture, and personal belongings of Queen Marie, offering visitors a glimpse into the elegance and refinement of the interwar period. <\/p><hr data-start=\"2275\" data-end=\"2278\"><h3 data-start=\"2280\" data-end=\"2312\"><strong data-start=\"2284\" data-end=\"2312\">Between History and Legend<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"2314\" data-end=\"2587\">Bran Castle is also world-famous thanks to its association with the Dracula legend, inspired by the historical figure Vlad the Impaler (Vlad \u021aepe\u0219).
